dvd is a 90 min. documentation of the band [re: jazz] in short interviews and scenes from backstage and off stage (tour in Japan) . Complemented by interviews with visitors to the concerts in Yokohama and statements by Japanese scene greats like Mitsuru Ogawa (DMR). Thus, the DVD has not become a classic concert DVD with extras, but rather a musical travel DVD that tells different stories in parallel through interviews and pictures and takes the viewer on tour to Japan for the duration of a concert. The DVD is rounded off with classic bonus material - a video take that [re: jazz] shows during rehearsals for the last album EXPANSION and in studio recordings with the English guest singer ALICE RUSSELL on the piece Gabrielle.

[re:jazz] is back in 2008 with a brand new 2-disc release feat. their first live album recorded at the Motion Blue in Yokohama and a dvd documentary by Markus Bader, filmed during the Japan tour in April 2007. Beside fantastic live versions of their greatest interpretations from past releases you will hear two brand new recordings on this live album for the first time. „All over" a tune written by Inga Lühning and „Can you live" a re-interpretation of a tune written by Volker Meitz.

In addition to the studio album releases you have a chance to experience also the known re:jazz tunes in a new way. As there were many guests on the studio recordings with guests like Lisa Bassenge (All I need) or Joy Denelane (Torch of freedom), live you will here these titles re- interpreted by the fantastic voice of Inga Lühning.

Also the arrangements of the tunes are different to the studio recordings. A highlight for sure is "All I need" with it´s new and intense udo solo by percussionist Heiko Himmighoffen.

"People hold on" a big band version on the last album Expansion, is transformed into s swing version for the septet.

Beside the live album there is a 90 minutes dvd documentary about [re:jazz] touring and performing live in Japan with interviews, statements from and about [re:jazz] to give you a closer image of the group itself. Combined with impressions from Japan and the wonderful people they met during their tour, the dvd is more then a pure concert dvd. It takes you on a journey with the band to Japan.
